First Handgun Bootcamp Training

If you're traveling you should always have a way to protect yourself and having a concealed weapon on your person is one of the best solutions to that problem.  47 states now allow you to carry a concealed weapon even if you're not from their state.  Washington, Illinois and New York are (as far as I can tell) are the only states that won't allow you to carry concealed while within their borders.  The solution to that is to unload your weapon and place it is a locked location.  Put the ammunition you have in a separate place as far away from the weapon as possible in your vehicle.  Once you've cleared the state line just retrieve your weapon and carry on.  Better yet though:  Avoid those states all together!

In every state that allows a citizen to carry a concealed weapon there are requirements that must be met.  Normally it is a short (8-12 hour) training course in which a lawyer comes in and details the specifics of the law concerning concealed carry and then you go to a range to prove that you can actually handle the weapon you've chosen to carry.

I would suggest to you that the 8-12 hour training is a good start but in order for you to really become aware of what you've chosen to do as it relates to protecting yourself, your family and your property you really need to go further than the initial training you had to go through.

Here's a great resource that I think you should at least take a look at.  It offers detailed training beyond what you'll learn in your beginners class and much more.
