Ruger SR 1911 CMD Video Review

I am a lover of all things 45 caliber. This Ruger SR 1911 CMD is an great weapon and I've been looking to buy one for months. Trouble is, it is so popular that I have yet to get my hands on one. Rest assured however that when I find one it will be mine. Here's a video review of the Ruger 1911 CMD by one of my favorite reviewers of all things handgun. I hope you enjoy it.

M and P Shield. In the Pink

Here's a great review video of the new M&P Shield. The review is only about 8 minutes long but gives great details. Take a look. I think you'll agree that this little beauty in pink is a great concealed carry tool.

Judge and Jury

Sometimes I get pictures that just say it all. Here's an example of what I mean. And no, I don't believe that this should be the law of the land. However, having said that, I can see some instances where it is simply necessary.

I Love Smith and Wesson

Sometimes you have to add a little bit of humor to your day just to make it through. Here's your little bit for today. I hope it makes you smile.

Smith and Wesson Bodyguard 380

Generally I don't recommend the 380 as a primary defensive carry weapon. And, even though I'm featuring this Smith and Wesson Bodyguard 380 here, I still hold to the thought that you really should have something a little more substantial as a primary carry weapon. I do understand though that many people just want to have something as opposed to nothing so in that case this little jewel is a perfect choice.

Repealing The Second Ammendment...

Some people will sign anything. This guy, obviously, is NOT recommending the repeal of the second amendment yet people sign this silly petition without so much as a second thought. And you wonder why you aren't safe on the streets and in your homes. Come on everybody use your heads. Think a little bit about what's going on in the USA today. There really are people out there that would gladly go door to door to take away your ability to defend yourself, your family or anyone threatened with great bodily harm.

Ruger 10/22 Takedown Rim-fire Rifle

If you're looking for one of the best 22 rifles ever made this is it. I have been able to get my grubby little hands on one of these and the owner had to nearly rip it out of my hands to get it back. Yes, it is that good. Here's more information that I think will help. The humble little .22 Long Rifle (LR) has been the most popular caliber for generations, never more so than now. Like millions of other kids I grew up with a .22 rifle in my hands but as I grew older the .22s got left behind while I pursued other interests. Now, with centerfire ammunition being scarce and expensive, the little .22 is enjoying a huge comeback; not just for kids, but for everyone wanting to maintain their skills without having to mortgage the farm. Too, everyone from preppers to backpackers, or those looking for a handy, durable and reliable firearm, is gravitating towards .22 rifles and pistols. With the 10/22 Takedown, Ruger has produced a .22 rifle that should appeal to all these folks and more.

22 Long Rifle Self Defense Weapon

Over the past few months I've been talking with another expert in the firearm field and we've both come to the same conclusion: The 22 Long Rife cartridge is an excellent round for both self defense and for survival.  Here's a short video that will explain the reasons why this is such a good round to use.

Of course the 22LR would not be my recommendation as a full-time self defense round but in a pinch it would work and make it so you can get out of most any situation in which you might find yourself.

First Handgun Bootcamp Training

If you're traveling you should always have a way to protect yourself and having a concealed weapon on your person is one of the best solutions to that problem.  47 states now allow you to carry a concealed weapon even if you're not from their state.  Washington, Illinois and New York are (as far as I can tell) are the only states that won't allow you to carry concealed while within their borders.  The solution to that is to unload your weapon and place it is a locked location.  Put the ammunition you have in a separate place as far away from the weapon as possible in your vehicle.  Once you've cleared the state line just retrieve your weapon and carry on.  Better yet though:  Avoid those states all together!

In every state that allows a citizen to carry a concealed weapon there are requirements that must be met.  Normally it is a short (8-12 hour) training course in which a lawyer comes in and details the specifics of the law concerning concealed carry and then you go to a range to prove that you can actually handle the weapon you've chosen to carry.

I would suggest to you that the 8-12 hour training is a good start but in order for you to really become aware of what you've chosen to do as it relates to protecting yourself, your family and your property you really need to go further than the initial training you had to go through.

Here's a great resource that I think you should at least take a look at.  It offers detailed training beyond what you'll learn in your beginners class and much more.

Refusing To Play The Game

It has been quite a while since my last posting and the title of this post should explain why. I've been sitting back watching all of the craziness going on and shaking my head in disbelief.
One political party goes one way while the other goes in the other direction. It can be frustrating to watch so I simply opted out for a while. However, now that things have calmed some I will begin posting again with some up to date and useful information that will help you on your journey.

Stay tuned. Be safe. Stay armed!
